畿 - Kinki Region
In the Kinki Region, a shrine maiden ties a short thread charm to her wrist, saying it keeps her connected to Kyoto’s old emperors.
She joins the Gion Matsuri, where a giant parade float creaks through the streets, lanterns glowing and drums booming “don-don.”
At night, she walks past a shimmering Rice Paddy, fireflies blinking like stars, and whispers: “This is the heart of the Kinki Region-where capital, festival, and fields all meet.”
