桁 - Beam
Picture this: a carpenter takes a tall Tree, cuts a smooth trunk, and lays it down right over a bustling Go crossroads-cars stop, people gasp. “Look!” he shouts, “this is the great Beam!”
Kids run under it like it’s a soroban bar, beads clacking tick-tick-tick; priests hang kimono on it like an 衣桁; builders pound nails as if raising a shrine roof. The smell of fresh wood, the rhythm of footsteps, the creak of cloth-all tie back to that one shining Beam bridging Tree and Go.
