千 - Thousand
At the village fair, I keep a long bamboo pole and add a single bend each time a group of Ten kids completes the ring-toss; the pole slowly arches with tidy marks, and when one hundred such groups have finished, the announcer raises the pole and we call out the grand total: Thousand.
