< Grade 4 Lesson
争 - Conflict
At a neighborhood festival, two kids both reach for the same daruma prize—so the elder ties a bright mizuhiki knot (bound) around it and sets it on a little three-slat bamboo shelf shaped like yo, while a friendly hedgehog places a single quill (barb) between them as a gentle boundary. Their giggles turn the Conflict into a patient contest of sharing, and the prize becomes mochi they split in half.
