四 - Four
A giant festival Mouth/Entrance gate (囗) opens wide-like a shrine doorway.
Out tumble two playful Legs (儿), kicking high like anime heroes.
The crowd chants “shi! shi!” but someone whispers “yon” to dodge the death-sound taboo.
Overhead, the Four Heavenly Kings (四天王) watch the four seasons spin-spring, summer, autumn, winter-like a turning lantern.
Whenever you see 四, remember: a mouth that contains legs, a sound that balances luck and fear, and the power of four directions guarding you.
