任 - Responsibility
A human at a shrine takes on Responsibility by tying a ceremonial bend into a Samurai banner, a small rite that says 'I will carry it.' In the old East Asian calendar, 壬 is the ninth Heavenly Stem providing the sound here, so 任 means a person entrusted with duty.
