二 - Two
Two lantern lines drift in the sky-one above, one below-like the twin strokes of 二.
The top line glows like a tomoe swirl, a shrine emblem of balance, while the bottom line rests steady as a tatami floor.
Together they chant “ni-ni” like knees knocking, reminding you of WaniKani’s joke: two knees = に.
It’s simple as a February breeze (二月, ni-gatsu) and steady as “dai-ni” (the second of anything).
Whenever you see it, picture two even beams-sky and ground-forever paired, balanced, unmistakably Two.
