亀 - Turtle
Long ago at the Dragon Palace, a wise Turtle showed Urashima Tarō his secrets.
First, he wrapped himself in a wrap or embrace cloak, curling tight.
Then, on his back, a shiny rice field pattern glowed like the hexagons of a tortoise shell, the famous kikkō design in samurai armor.
With a flick of his tail, shaped like a bend stroke, he splashed the waves.
His head, sharp as a corner, peeked out to nod at the fisherman.
Finally, sparks of electricity danced across his shell, like a festival lantern buzzing alive.
That’s how the world remembers the enduring image of the Turtle-slow, storied, and full of hidden power.
